— Our Story

How Astrolade came to be

Astrolade was founded in Bangkok after years of working inside organisations that were growing faster than their internal practices could keep pace with. The founders noticed a consistent pattern: hiring was often improvised rather than designed; performance conversations were either absent or unclear; and culture shifts that followed mergers or leadership changes were rarely managed with any deliberate structure.

The name Astrolade is a nod to the astrolabe — a historical instrument used to chart position and measure angles precisely. The practice was built around a similar idea: using careful observation and structured method to help organisations understand where they are and how their people processes are actually working.

Since opening, Astrolade has worked with organisations of varying sizes — from teams of twenty to companies with several hundred staff — across sectors including manufacturing, financial services, retail, and technology. All engagements are designed to leave organisations with materials and frameworks they own outright, rather than creating ongoing dependency.

— Our Mission

What we are here to do

Astrolade exists to make the internal workings of organisations more consistent and more fair — particularly around the moments that matter most to the people in them: being hired, being assessed, and navigating change together.

Precision

We scope every engagement carefully so the work is focused and the outputs are usable.

Observation

We take time to understand what is actually happening before drawing any conclusions.

Clarity in writing

Every engagement ends with a written output in plain language that your team can act on.

— Standards

How we work — our professional standards

Confidentiality as standard

Information shared during any engagement is treated with discretion. We do not share client details, internal discussions, or written outputs between clients. Formal confidentiality agreements are available on request.

Clear engagement terms

Before any work begins, we provide a written scope document describing what is included, what is not, the timeline, and the pricing. There are no ambiguities about what the engagement covers.

Neutral facilitation

In working sessions, we do not take sides. Our role is to structure the conversation, surface different views, and capture decisions — not to advocate for a particular outcome.

Written outputs in plain language

All reports, frameworks, and session notes are written to be understood by people who were not in the room. We avoid jargon and focus on specific, actionable observations and recommendations.

Data protection

Personal data collected during engagements — including interview notes containing individuals' names — is stored securely and retained only as long as needed. We comply with applicable Thai data protection requirements.

Honest progress updates

If an engagement surfaces something unexpected, or if the scope needs to change, we raise it with you promptly and in writing. We do not continue past a scope boundary without explicit agreement.

— Expertise

Business consulting for organisations in Bangkok and Thailand

Astrolade operates from Bangkok's Khlong Toei Nuea district, working with businesses that recognise the value of taking a structured, measured approach to how their people processes are designed and maintained. The practice draws on experience across sectors — including professional services, manufacturing, consumer goods, and technology — to bring context-sensitive thinking rather than generic templates.

Consulting work in the area of hiring review tends to suit organisations that have been hiring at pace and have not had time to review whether their processes are still consistent and fair. It also suits organisations preparing to scale up hiring and wanting to ensure that the foundation is sound before volume increases. The output is a written report with observed findings — not a pre-built framework the client is expected to adopt wholesale.

Performance conversation work is most relevant to management teams where conversations with direct reports feel inconsistent — some managers are having them regularly, others rarely, and the conversations themselves vary widely in depth and usefulness. The framework produced through this engagement gives a shared vocabulary and structure that the management team refines together before it is used in practice.

Cultural reset engagements draw on facilitation methods designed to make difficult conversations productive — particularly in organisations going through significant transitions. After a merger or acquisition, after a period of rapid growth, or after a leadership change, the working agreements that previously guided behaviour often no longer fit. These engagements create space for leadership teams to examine what they want those agreements to be, and to record them in writing.
